As a Muslim, Mohammad Ali was well known for his refusal to join the US Army in Vietnam. Mennonites/Amish and Jehovah Witnesses, also are strong advocates against violence and war and refuse to serve in any armed service which would kill another human. Some have been imprisoned, tortured or even put to death in other countries for keeping their faith and beliefs.
