technically it would be the Spartans, since they were the ones who trained their young to be soldiers at the earliest points in their lives, around seven until they were 40 or dead, although some developmental psychologists believe that if you wanna make an such an important impact on a child's life, you should get them when they're 3 or younger

but possibly the better military force would be the Persian immortals, where they didn't really have any sort of military advantage except numbers, the idea behind them was that for every soldier that died, there would be one behind in reserves, who would take their place

but overall the best would possibily be the roman military, it had a great diversification between cavalry, infantry, auxiliary, and uniform, although the bright red did probably stand out in the typical lush forests that dominated the European landscape, the idea behind their uniforms was to make the soldier unable to tell if they were bleeding or not, so although they wouldn't be able to blend in with the area like the modern military uniform, they would be able to keep fighting until they died from blood loss or were infected, which was highly likely in those days, they also had great armor which was very flexible compared to their enemies, their helmets also had ear holes so that they could still hear orders during battle

the Romans probably had the best designed and most well thought out military until the modern American standing army, although it has had a decline since world war two, it still has an annual budget of half a trillion dollars, and even though it has lost two important conflicts over the past 30 years (Vietnam, Iraq), it still is used on a regular basis since it toppled the Iranian republic in 1958, i believe
