There were no Presidents of the United States before ratification of the Constitution. Under the Articles of Confederation, there were Presidents of Congress, but the two offices were very different.
The President of the United States is the executive officer of the United States and wields a huge amount of power. The Presidents of Congress under the Articles of Confederation were very limited in their executive powers and essentially served solely as the presiding officers of Congress - more similar in their roles to today's President of the Senate than to the President of the United States itself.
The Presidents of Congress after the Articles of Confederation were ratified were John Hanson , Elias Boudinot, Thomas Mifflin, Richard Henry Lee, John Hancock (elected but did not serve), Nathaniel Gorham, Arthur St. Clair, Cyrus Griffin.
