Is this True or false the nullification crisis was caused by a dispute over the tariff?

During President Jackson's period of office the "Nullification Crisis", or "secession crisis," of 1828 - 1832, merged issues of sectional strife with disagreements over tariffs. Critics alleged that high tariffs (the "Tariff of Abominations") on imports of common manufactured goods made in Europe made those goods more expensive than ones from the northern U.S., raising the prices paid by planters in the South. Southern politicians argued that tariffs benefited northern industrialists at the expense of southern farmers."

How did America change from 1789 to 1865?

It changed quite a bit. We went from the weak Articles of Confederation to a more definiatve Constitution using a Republican Democracy. During the federalist period, our nation gained greater strength than state and local governments and important precedents were set as in Marbury v. Madison where the principle of judicial review was established. It defined the role of the Supreme Court as well as made the Judicial branch equal to the Legislative and Executive branches. Our Nation was filled with sectional strife as different regions developed different independent economies. By the 1850's there was much debate over the expansion of slavery in western territories gained by war or treaties. The Election of 1860 was the last straw for South Carolina and the lower southern states as Lincoln and the Republican party won without ANY southern electoral votes.

Why are there so many British soldiers in Massachusetts and the other companies?

In October 1768, British troops landed in Boston to enforce the Townshend duties (taxes on paint, paper, tea, etc., passed in June 1767) and clamp down on local radicals. The troops' presence doesn't sit well with locals and leads to street fights. One clash between soldiers and a mob in March 1770 will leave five dead. Radicals will call it the Boston Massacre, while the British will call it the incident on King Street. It was essentially to enforce the Townshend Duties, a controversial tax imposed on the colonies during the political strife prior to armed rebellion.
