It is the Security System - Cost just under $600 to repair at the dealer - pretty sure that was a "dealer" inflated price -- but they do it to you every time. Replaced the ingnition and reset the the "BS" security system.
if no leaks or problems, they recommend every 60< thousand miles.
every 3000 miles filter and oil needs changed. but if you think sooner thats fine.
you need a new battery usally every ten years there is probably a warranty on it chech it out
You just change the fuel filter at a regular scheduled interval. I recommend every 50,000 miles.
yes i have a 2003 and every 10,000 miles they are totally warped and i have heard that they have the same problems on other Malibu
I do it ever 3 months, just the air, fuel, and oil filter. also change the oil at least every 3000 miles.
could be a weak battery, not turning engine fast enough at startup. check battery voltage should be approx. 12.5 volts when not running.about 14.0 when running.
check idle air control on side of throttle body, it is round and has 3 wires going to it!! also check maf sensor, the best way to check it ,is unplug it and if car stays running than it is the sensor. it is in the hose to air cleaner.
Recommended at 3,000 miles but your car can easily surpass 5,000 in most conditions. My 1999 Malibu is changed every 4500-5000 miles on name-brand filters and oil. No problems with good maintenance at 202,000 miles.
I've used it almost every time i do an oil change in a 2004 Chevy Malibu 3.5l and it doesn't smoke and it has 118,000 miles on it. i love the stuff
they didnt make one after 100,000miles it should be check every 20 to 30 thousand miles id say
The emergency brake is partially depressed, even though the brake light is not on. release with handle and pull up on the brake pedal.
