i blew out all of the junk out of the carburetor on mine and i timed it to about 10-12 degrees and now it purrs at idle and on accelleration if that does not work u might have a vacuum leak somewhere
check all the Fuses and fuse links (Altnator to Fuse box to battery)
Any number of things: Bad spark plugs, dirty fuel filter, dirty injectors, and on, and on, and on.
The coil might be bad ,,like it was in mine
My 1994 Bronco will do this due to a bad positive connection on the starter (corrosion and dirt) when i clean it and spray some PB Blaster it gets a better connection and starts fine.

I think that when a film has rough cut filming it's picture is rougher and almost jagged compaired to fine cut filming, wich has a fine picture.
I have a '90 celebrity that had the same problem. Turned out to be the fuel pump. If you have any machanic friends I would have them test the presure. Hope this helps.

A bad alternator caused the same thing to happen in a 1985 Ford Bronco. We replaced it and everything is fine now. I agree I was in the process of passing someone when this happened to me. It completely died. After changing my undies and the alternator everything was fine.
