Three reasons:- 1- bad switch, 2- broken wire,...3- insufficient voltage getting to the motor due to poor conductivity of the mica-conductor inside the motor, open the motor and by-pass the mica strip with solder and a piece of copper 15 amp wire. the strip is in-line between one of the commutator brushes and the feed wire. (this is for each motor)
Both window switch on the front door will lower the window, the problem is that both switch will not raise the window back up to its close position and also the master window switch on the Driver's side will not operate all the time nor will the master door lock on the driver's side lock the passenger side door. On several ocasion the driver's side window switch lowered it's window and it would'nt raise the window back up unless after quite a few minutes playing with the window switch, opening the door, etc.
Dear Sir, The problem is most likely the switch on the passenger side has gone bad. You might want to be sure that your WINDOW LOCK button is not on. It is on the driver's side control panel located on the door. i have to go for the switch as well. i like both responses, make sure the lock is "off" before replacing the switch.
On Nissans, the passenger and both rear door window switches get their power through the master (drivers door) switch. First thing to try is playing with the master switch. Move the master switch button that is inop to the position that is not working and move it around with your finger. If this don't work, remove the master switch and clean the contacts, maybe with some silicon spray and then test if you have power leaving the switch. If not, the switch probably needs to be replaced. Have seen this happen on other cars and it has been the passenger door switch. It is most probably a double pole double throw switch and both sides of the switch need to work to make the window go both ways. Check the connections on the back of the switch and/or interchange it with one from another door. I think most likely a wiring fault at the passenger door switch and the drivers door switch have the same fault. Ken
If you can operate the window from the driver's side, then you need to replace the switch on the passenger's side. If neither side works you need to replace both switches. You buy the switches at any auto parts store. They are fairly cheap. The cover on the window-control panel can be easily removed. If there are no screws, just pry it up.
It is either the window motor or the window switch. That shoud be determined before replacing the window motor, but a weak motor will melt a window switch and it MAY be both. It could also be in need of some white grease on the regulator track inside the door but I doubt that.
In most states yes. Both the driver and the passenger will get a ticket.
There are two motor's for the top. They are on both sides of the back seat, connected to the rear passenger & driver side window cage.
I had the very same problem with my 2000 Chevy Malibu. Rear window would go up but not down from either the driver's switch or passenger switch. Removed both rear switches, the one that worked and the one that didn't. Did a quick ohms check and the working side had continuity on both sets of contact however the other switch didn't. No visible damage, just no contact. Saturated the switch with WD-40 and blew it out with my air hose. Repeated the process and checked again. Bam! there it was, continuity again. Soaked the other switch also for good measure. Now all windows are working again
If both a passenger and a bus driver were drunk on the bus, they can both find themselves in trouble for public intoxication. In addition to that the driver could lose his job and license for drinking and driving.
On both the passenger and driver side window there will be a handle that you pull down that unlatches the top. Next, just push up and it will open
passenger window does not work getting power when i press the switch getting power on both sides of wire tested motor works
No. The the same part number is applicable for both driver and passenger side windows. Front and rear are also the same.
