I've had the same problem. Checking other blogs, I've found out that the leak comes from an elbow fitting at the rear of the block (passenger side). It contains an O-ring that needs to be replaced, but the problem may be caused by blockage. Do a Google search for the problem & you'll get more answers. -RJC
Did you check the oil pump, and oil lines at the front of the engine? Start at the front, because what you're seeing with it going from front to rear could possibly just be blowback from the engine fan.
Must likely the oil cover gaskets are leaking. It is easy to fix but if you are not practical better pay someone do it
Your Camry might have a loud exhaust in the winter weather because of damaged or weakened exhaust gaskets or manifold gaskets. The cold weather causes these gaskets to shrink which makes the vehicle sound louder.
Intake and exhaust manifold gaskets are also replaced along with the head gasket. Head is inspected and if cracked it is replaced. Head bolts should also be replaced with new ones.
Some exhaust systems use gaskets and some don't.
The intake & exhaust manifold must be removed, then the head is remove. Head inspected for cracks and warpage, all gaskets replaced and all parts reinstalled.
Make sure your just not losing water that was in the exhaust before you replaced the head gasket.
Good idea to do so
Catalytic converters are in the exhaust system so replacing them is a job similar to replacing a muffler. Difference is that the converters are bolted in and have gaskets that must be replaced at the same time.
First you have to determine the cause of the leak then decide how to go about repairing it. It may only need new gaskets or it may need to have the manifold machined or replaced.
it sounds like your exhaust manifold gaskets are leaking or you half a hole in your Y pipe
I was not aware that headgaskets were repairable. I have always replaced them with new gaskets. If you mean who replaces headgaskets, then that would be an engine mechanic.
