I'm not a mechanic / technician but I noticed in the power distribution box in the engine compartment of a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer that mini - fuse # 11 ( 20 amp ) is for the HEGO system ( heated exhaust gas oxygen ) sensors The PD BOX is " live " - it is recommended to disconnect your battery cables before servicing anything in the PD BOX
On a 1998 Mercury Mountaineer : The automatic transmissions are ELECTRONICALLY controlled , so there is no modulator
Have a mountaineer with a bad 5.0 liter engine. What other 5.0 ford engines will interchange with the mercury engine?
the blend door actuater is bad
Could be a bad actuator in the door
bad switch or possibly stuck switch
Because your switch is bad, replace the light assembly
Check the abs wheel speed sensors. Or the abs module could be bad
the misfire my be caused by improper sparkplug gaps or bad injectors
Under the battery tray. A little difficult to get to bu tnot too bad.
Bad wheel bearing? Brake pads worn?
just a bad circuit board. common problem with the display burning out
Sounds like axle is no square with frame putting it in a bind.
