I have to suggest the light switch is bad. A simple voltmeter or test light may help you test voltages. I have to suggest the light switch is bad. A simple voltmeter or test light may help you test voltages.
Lowbeam is an H7, highbeam/DTR is also H7
The circuit requires the hi/lo switch. You'll need to get a replacement switch for everything to complete the headlamp circuitry.
I'm having the exact same problem. Does anyone know what is causing this?
both my lowbeam headlights aren't working although high beam and parking lights do. probably aloose connection. any ideas how i can fix it sal
Just replaced the headlight bulbs in a 98 Grand Cherokee that had the same problem. It had the wrong bulbs in it. It had 9007's in it. Calls for 9004's.
If both lowbeam headlights fail at once, it probably isn't the lamps themselves. That would be a fluke. The wiring is usually not at fault. It is vulnerable at the ends where the connectors are because they might become corroded. Check that last. That leaves the two other vulnerable points in the circuit: the fuse and the light switch. Check them out.
It is possible that both of the fuses are bad for the low beam headlights and the cruise control. A loose ground wire could cause the fuses to blow.
just behind the headlamp lens assemblies you'll find little plastic doors that you open to access the bulbs,.... pay attention to the location of the lowbeam bulb lens before you open the doors or you'll be replacing the highbeam bulbs. it's straighforward from there--just unplug the old bulb, plug in the new one and shut the little plastic door.
Should be coming out of the wiring harness on each side of the car, where the harness is fastened to the radiator support. The ground is bolted to the radiator support on both right and left sides near the headlights- on the back of the radiator support
I am actually having this problem.. here is mine... see if it relates to you. My headlights (on regular, low beam) do not work. I cannot get them to come on in the high beam either. But, if I pull the blinker arm forward for the passing flash thing, they light up on high-beams (only for as long as I hold the lights on). I have found the problem to be a thing called "Multifunction Switch". My car is a 1997 Ford Taurus G.... See if that helps you any. It was my underlying issue and mine is getting fixed tonight. :) Good luck
Most can be replaced by you fairly easily. See your owners manual. For a rough idea on what the price is on the actual lamps, see sources and related links below.
It cn be the switch, bulbs or wiring. I suggest if you intend to work on your car to get a shop manal on it from AUTOBOOKSONLINE.COM for about $20
