Why can't you remove the key from the ignition on a 96 olds achieva it's happening more frequently but never when it's at the garage mechanics have no answer car is fully in park still can't remove?

i would suggest replacing the key tumbler-youll get new keys with it
well when that happens to me it's because I've turned the key to far in the off direction
I had this same problem after someone tried to steal my car. There is a little button under the steering wheel that needed to be pushed in to remove the key. If you hold it down while pulling out key it should come. Only thing is you have to remove the steering cover to get to button.

The same was happening with my 93 achieva s I changed the oil sending unit... with the stalling ie.. shutters then kills... then wont go back into gear till cools off ...changes the tranny oil and filter and it stopped for a while then when it started doing it again when it would shutter I would punch the gas and seen to correct what it was doing ,,,the achieva

Check ignition relay. Jump the battery directly to the starter and see if the starter is any good.
