John F. Kennedy (JFK) began his involvement in politics, as did several of his brothers and relatives, based on the political interest his father had in this area of American life. JFK's father was in politics and at one time was the US Ambassador to Great Britain. As an aside, JFK's father had hoped that one of his sons would someday run for the office of US President.
