In the middle of the 18th century, France and England were in conflict over sphere's of influence in North America. France had made inroads in several places Canada and south of the border into what was the 13 British colonies. In 1754, French settlers began confrontations with the British in the Ohio Valley. France was able to convince Native Americans that the British settlers were a threat to them and their land. So, together France and her Native American allies fought the British colonists and the Royal Crown.
