Actually, it was his son who disliked Ben. Benjamin was very active in the movement for America to become independent of England, while his son was a governor of the English for one of the colonies . . . Virginia, I think. Benjamin's reaction was more one of despair. It is notable that Benjamin's grandson adored him.
