William I (the conqueror) died during a campaign in France because his horse stumbled, making him fall heavily against the pommel of his saddle. This ruptured his bladder and he died of septicaemia. It is unclear of exactly how he died.
A saddle pommel caused the death of King William I [c. 1027/1028-September 9, 1087] of England. While busy burning the French city of Mantes, the King fell from his horse. In the process, his abdomen was injured fatally by the pommel.

Pneumonia caused the death of William III [November 14, 1650-March 8, 1702] of England. The King fell when his horse, Sorrel, stumbled into a mole's burrow. He broke a collarbone. There were complications, and pneumonia fatally set in.
Heart failure was the cause of the death of King William IV [August 21, 1765-June 20, 1837] of England. The King's health declined because of tragedies that he took greatly to heart in the last year of his life. His beloved daughter, Sophia, Lady de l'Isle, died in childbirth in April. His attempts to reconcile with his eldest son, George, Earl of Munster, failed miserably. The relationship between father and son remained bitterly distant all the way to the end of the King's life.
