Why did people live in Berlin?

People have lived in Berlin for many reasons throughout the years. One major reason is that Berlin is the capital city of Germany and one of the major cities in Europe. Though it has undergone much in its History such as the rise of Hitler and Nazism, as well as the time of the Berlin Wall and Communism after that, Berlin today is still one of the major European cities and major cities in the world and a major center for the arts.
