They formed new colonies because they did not feel that the colony they were in had good rules. There government was very strict with laws like you must go to church. Many people did not like this and felt the need to move again to another place and start a new colony
The economics of the 13 original American colonies was the driving element as to why the colonies were different. In the Southern colonies, agriculture and slave labor was the driving element for example as to why this was so different than New York. In New York, a seaport city with international trade and an immigrant population made for a more manufacturing type of colony.
THANK YOU!!!
What led some Massachusetts Bay Colonists to form new colonies nearby was their hard work and trust.
What led some Massachusetts Bay Colonists to form new colonies nearby was some of the people who lived in that colony got tired of how it was governed.
Because the got pressured
They didn't agree with the Puritans
John Winthrop, governor of the Puritans, established the Massachusetts bay colony
When the Massachusetts Bay Colony was established by John Winthrop, its goal was to be a "city on a hill," a religious theocracy run by and for Puritans, and one that would set a good example for Christians who would live there. Unfortunately, the Puritans turned out to be quite intolerant of not just other religions but other interpretations of Puritanism, causing people like Roger Williams to leave and establish other colonies (in Williams's case, Rhode Island).
What caused people to leave the Massachusetts Bay Colony is that church leaders or ministers did not take ideas from their own. Some were forced out of Massachusetts.
The Puritans hated England and didn't like there religion. Since they hated England's main religion, they didn't go to there church. The king had to punish whoever doesn't go. The Puritans were forced to leave and they settled at Massachusetts building there own colony called New England.
Jonathon Calvert of England founded the colony of Massachusetts for religious freedom. Puritans were telling them to leave, so they moved to Asia and left behind a colonial war between the states.

Most who left were not given a choice. They were expelled as non-compliant Puritans.
John Winthrop, governor of the Puritans, established the Massachusetts bay colony
The Puritans left England in order to worship God in the way they believed was right. They founded three colonies in the New England, Plymouth in 1620 and Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1630, both located in Massachusetts, and the Connecticut Colony in 1636. Some people say they came because they wanted religious freedom, but that's not really correct, because they believed their way of worship was the only right way and did not allow people who believed something different to worship as they saw fit. The Puritans settled only in the New England region.
