The Catholic Church, under the direction and leadership of Pope Pius XII, save more Jews than any other group or individual during World War II. Hundreds of thousands were saved, hidden in churches, monasteries, convents or given false documents so they could travel to safer locations. It is even said that Pius XII would disguise himself as a simple Franciscan friar at night and go into Rome to bring Jews back to the Vatican for safety. Much of the information about the Catholics not helping the Jews came about from a massive disinformation campaign waged by the KGB after World War II to cause a separation between the Jews and Catholics.
This is a lie perpetrated by revisionists who are as bad as those who deny the Holocaust. Both groups deny historical facts. The Catholic Church, under the leadership and direction of Pope Pius XII, did more than any organization or individual to save the Jews. Churches, monasteries and convents all over Italy were told to hide refugees and protect them from arrest. The Church provided many with false documents so that they could escape to safer areas of the world. Pius XII publicly and privately denounced the Nazis on numerous occasions. However, he soon learned that the more he denounced the Nazis, the worse the persecutions became. Most of what Pius did was done in secret. One has to remember that the Vatican is a city-state completely surrounded by Italy which was a country allied with Hitler. The pope was very vulnerable, not unlike a lonely sheep surrounded on all sides by wolves. Had the government learned of what was being done in the Vatican on behalf of the Jews, it would have been quickly overrun by Nazis and Fascists. Hundreds of thousands of lives were saved by the Catholic Church and many Catholics were sent to the death camps for doing so.
Yes, Germany did have a draft during World War 2, but it wasn't avoided just by "going into the Catholic church". It was avoided by becoming a priest or nun in the Catholic church.

Yes, but in history class they tell you no because they don't want to hurt its ''grand'' Reputation. Pope Pious X had affiliations with Hitler. Of course the Catholic Church has murdered Jewish people throughout history. why not kill them in world war 2? investigate in depth and you will discover the perversion of the Catholic church. They do not die for their God, they die for the Church itself.
The Roman Catholic Church is by far the largest religion. Before World War 2, there were several hundred thousand Jews in and around Warsaw and hundreds of syna goges. Today, there are only 5000 Jews left in Warsaw and several temples. Very sad!

Through war and imposition from the Catholic Church.
The religion in France during World War to was mainly Roman Catholic with the odd protestant group. Once Hitler encouraged the Jews to leave Germany (before the beginning of the 'Holocaust', the number of Jews in France increased.
