Herzl explained quite well that the European concept of a nation-state was dependent on the idea that all of the people in any particular nation were of the same ethnic stock and heritage. Jews were branded by this system to be "the Other" and were regarded at best as possible equals and at worse as traitors, spies, thieves, and fifth columns. When the Dreyfus Affair turned out marches in Paris that said "Death to the Jews" on account of a kangaroo court against a particular guiltless Jew, it became clear that the Jew could not be integrated into Europe. After the Holocaust, the strongest proof that the Jew and the European Nation-State were irreconcilable, this view persists.

What were the problems that existed in forming the state of Israel?

The state of Israel got its independence in 1948. The U.N suggested to split the land for both Jews and Arabs. The Jews agreed but the Arabs didn't. War burst and the Jews won. Further more, Israel is mentioned in the bible many times as the home of Jews so it goes way back to 4,000 years ago.

Where did Hitler plan to set up a separate Jewish state during World War 2?

He didn't plan to set up a Jewish state. He planned to kill all of the Jews he could get his hands on. He didn't just want Jews out of Germany, he wanted them out of the world.

Why did Hitler and the Nazis party hate the Jews to the point of planning to exterminate the entire Jewish race?

They did not plan to exterminate all Jews, just those living within their reach. Whether or not they hated them is irrelevant, what matters is that they did not want Jews in their society. The reasons for this was that they saw Jews as a threat to national security. They thought that Jews had an allegiance first to their faith rather than to the state. Most of the other reasons stem from this, they thought that Jews were more interested in making money than helping the state and that Jews were in charge of certain industries and banking, also and juxtaposed to this that they spread communism.

The Jews "relocated" to America so that they could escape from the religious persecution that they were receiving in their home countries, and they also wanted a chance to live and prosper in a better economy (not that it is today).
