- Get land (if they kill the owners)
- Knights (enjoyed fighting)

- Eastern (Orthodox) christians
- Western (Roman Catholic) christians
- Muslims
- And other non-christians

∙ 12y agoOne big reason was the push from the real estate brokers. Many who went on theCrusades were poor second or third sons with no land of their own. But they were able to buy small timeshares in the east, especially on the Gaza strip. This would mean that each knight could bring his family on vacation for a couple of weeks out of the year, fighting in between going to the beach, fishing, and Golf.
