I'll try help you out. England and Poland had a kind of alliance, If Germany choose to invade Poland, we will defend them, the English government said. and so they did. Poland was initially invade by both Russia and germany in 1939 as they divided up eastern Europe in 1941 the nazis invaded Russia (operation barbarossa) it was in September 1944 that the polish resistance (the AK) staged an uprising ahead of the advancing soviets but the soviets stopped short of Poland and let the Germans kill them. After Germany surrendered Poland was occupied by communist Russia for the next 40+ years. So there was no invasion of Poland in 1947.

Hitler made a deal with Stalin to divide Poland. The Germans invaded in September of 1939. Hitler wanted to expand Germany to become as large as possible.

Hitler wanted space for his Sudetenland, so he took Poland... this actually triggered World War 2, not World War 1
