Having reason and justice when it comes to law has a better impact than just coming to a conclusion based on something else. It is better to have reason and principle than have someone killed or sent to jail without a reason or justice for that individual.

Actually, these are primary principles that eventually formed into a legal practice throughout Western Europe, which is considered to be known as "Roman Law" until the end of the 18th century. In Germany, Roman Law was kept even longer than that.
