Erm trick question? Because they'll soil themselfs if they dont!

OR...

A real question? because the questioner either has a child(boy) or knows of a child who, older than the "normal" diaper age, seems to have a desire to wear diapers long after being toilet trained.

If THAT'S the case then the answers are myriad. In my 30+ years as a therapist I thought I had seen/heard it all until a young teenage boy was referred by his parents because he was "caught" wearing (and in this case, using) diapers.

This prompted an internet search and "lo and behold" there are quite a few diaper sites out there....90% (more or less) catering to males and the large majority of them are self-identifying as gay or bisexual. There are a smattering of straight males and a "less than smattering" of females attracted to the lifestyle.

For most people it seems to be fetish related. Some proclaim the feeling of security and many within the populations self identify as Babies, TBs (Teen Babies), ABs (Adult babies) and DLs (diaper lovers but not "babies")

Where does it come from? Who knows!? It IS mostly boys...some of whom were or continued to be bedwetters into late childhood or even late teens/early adulthood. Many had no bedwetting or toilet training issues at any time in their lives. As previously stated the word "security" is paramount. For others the feelings associated with diapers and being "babied" is the acme. (The "baby" lifestyle often includes "mommies", and/or "Daddies"; helplessness, humiliation, "baby talk", baby bottles, baby apparrel...basically all the acouterments we normally associate with true infants and babies.

If you know of or have a child who is "into" this or if YOU are someone who is into this, it's important to know that the desire most likely cannot be curbed, especially if it is fetish related.

Many parents of children who profess a penchant for the "diaper lifestyle" in any of it's forms most often, for lack of a more descriptive term, "freak out". The more they try to prevent their child from engaging in the lifestyle, the more the child WANTS to do it. Is it rebellion? Fetish? Oppositional Defiant behavior? Obsessive Compulsive Disorder?...the jury is out! There is a dearth of reliable/scientific information about this topic. There ARE many websites which can be googled with key words such as: diapers, diaper boys, diaper-bois, DB, Adult Babies, Diaper Lovers etc.

Most sites are Adult oriented; a few sites such as Deeker's Diaper Page and Diaper-Boys.net allow both children and teens. Diaper-Boys. net is heavily monitored by moderators and does a good job affording protection from pedophiles. BUT: No site is perfect and no site can monitor what happens off-site thru chat rooms and email accounts, Instant Messaging, Social Accounts, etc.

What to do if your child professes an interest in this lifestyle? Listen. Be open-minded and be prepared to "agree to disagree". As parents, you walk the seemingly "never-ending tightrope" on many issues involving your children...Drugs, tobacco, alcohol, sex, etc. Measure your responses with parental love, compassion, and understanding. You do not have to agree or give your consent. In my experience, over-reacting, demanding, forbidding, threatening and other "strong-armed" techniques will only drive the proverbial wedge between you and your child.

If you are a child who has an interest in this lifestyle: First of all, be aware that it is your parents' responsibility to (among other things) protect you from danger and sometimes from yourself. Recognize that on the net, not everybody who professes to have your best interests at heart does indeed have your best interests at heart. Sometimes your love of diapers boils down to: putting off what you want to put on!

Hope this helped
