The fuses are made of either a solder/lead type mixture, or it's a thin wire, the thickness makes the fuses melt at a faster or slower rate when they get hot from a "short" or too much draw for the circuit. When a fuse "blows" is just a saying. But if you put a large enough "short" on a fuse it will seem to "blow" when it melts extremely fast.
Also, to much resistance caused by dirty or loose connections on a standard plastic spade fuse can cause the plastic portion to melt.
If terminals of the battery are reversed, it will short the device that is using the battery. On a car reversing the cables can blow fuses, melt wires, and fry computers.
Yes
Fuses only need to be changed when they blow. They are not a wear item.
I have a chrysler and i have to constantly have to replace the 20amp fuse to start the car why.
No.
radio broke see car dealer
Yes, blown fuses, burnt wires, fried computers......
The difference between MDL fuses and ADL fuses are that MDL fuses are a slow blow fuse with a long time lag. ADL fuses on the other hand, are normal blow fuses with a medium time lag.
Fuses blow, in any application, when the current in the circuit exceeds the limit preset by the fuse selection. It is also possible, if the fuse terminals are corroded, for heat to be generated, causing the fuse to melt, giving the appearance of having blown.
There are 2 lots of fuses 1 is inside the car at the side of the dash board on driver side, use a screw driver 2 open the panel then your fuses are there ready 2 change. The other fuses are under the bonnet these should not blow OS they are alot more powerful compaired to the ones inside the car.
If by over charges you mean that it produces to much current then you can fry sensitive electronics and blow fuses.
A short to ground causes all fuses to blow. If you have a trailer connecter then start there first.
