The reason dogs want there belly's rubbed is because it shows them you love them and you trust and care for them.
However if you don't rub your dogs belly they might think
other wise like they don't love me or care for me.
Dogs like getting rubbed on their hips because it is the only place that they cannot scratch themselves. It feels really good to them. It's just like someone scratching an intch on your back that you cannot reach.
When a dog rolls over and shows its belly humans think it's cute and tickle the dogs belly but the dog does it to show that he trusts you.
because it feels good

Dogs like all petting from humans. Belly rubs are particularly enjoyable because dogs can't reach their own bellies well with their mouths or paws, so it's satisfying to them to have that area rubbed by someone who can reach it. (That's why they like scratches behind their ears, too.)
It is more then likely a form of communication. Dogs grunt when they are situating themselves for naps, have to go to the bathroom outside, getting scratched or belly rubs. They communicate in this manner for many reasons but more likely for pleasurable ones.
AnswerDogs do have bellybuttons, but they aren't "innies" or "outies." Only a scar is present. The umbilical cord experiences avulsion during birth; it's not cut and tied like human babies' are. They do have belly buttons. My Boston terrier has a HUGE belly button!!!!! he doesn't have fur on his belly, where most dogs do have fur on there bellies. All dogs have belly buttons.
It means that if you associate with bad people, it rubs off on you just like fleas.

Most labradors love food and belly rubs, in that order.
I don't know of any dog that doesn't like to have its belly rubbed. Mine loved it. It must feel good. they do but get restless quick unless tired

It is like tickling and just a reaction.

In my opinion, all dogs like their belly rubbed. I have no idea why, but they love it.
lots of TLC and romps in a park belly rubs, and kindness and affection for you to be in charge and spend time with him he will be happiest being your follower (companion) not your leader and all dogs enjoy learning new tricks your beagle will love playing with a toy that feels light and feathery like a bird because that is what beagles like to do hold an animal in their mouth mostly for smaller dogs and hounds a bird or furry rabbit like feeling toy because they are hunting dogs
