This answer should be much longer but, for you to understand, during the Spanish kingdom of Felipe II (1556-1598) Spain had conquered the biggest empire of all times, bigger even than Roma. Spain was present in every continent (including Philippines, a big part of Africa, almost the whole of Southamerica and Northamerica...). It was said that the Sun never set in Spain.

Sorry, I didn't mean Northamerica (though Mexico, California, South of USA... were Spanish) I meant the whole of Central America.
