However, typically, countries in the New World and Western Europe have more different ethnic groups within their borders than, for example, Eastern European countries. This is primarily because of Immigration of peoples from other parts of the world seeking a better life in those economically affluent countries. However, many countries in Asia and Africa have striking amounts of regional diversity because their borders were designed without regards to ethnicity and, therefore, have many different ethnic groups.
