Because we're all fallen, and like to be bad and rebellious sometimes. Sometimes people don't want to say that Jesus is Lord because then they know they must submit to him. But Jesus is the ONLY way to heaven and he loves you.

I personally think that these kinds of people are spiritually sick and may not realise in their entirity what they are doing. I think that everybody is entitled to believe what they want, but sometimes some people are pushing their luck. There are people that have mental illnesses that can distort their thinking but I say that if they want to reduce their chances of getting in to heaven that is their look out.

Because the Devil had done nothing Evil.

And Jesus:

1. Jesus cursed the fig tree for not bearing fruits out of season. Mark 11:13-14, 20-21

2.Told us to hate our parents, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters and follow him. Luke 14:26

3. "He who courts oppression shares the crime." Luke 6:29.

4.Was sent not for peace but war. Matthew 10:34-36.

5. Jesus was merciless; Mark 16:16, Matthew 25:41.

6. Jesus assume for himself the power of answering petitions. John 14:13

7. Sell everything you have and give it to the poor. How many of us will do this? Luke 18:18, 22

8. Likes war. Luke 22:36.

9. Hates the rich. Luke 6:24.

10. Encourages wine-bibbing. John 2:1-7.

11. Abusive Language. Matthew 23:17,33, John 10:8

12. Jesus advocated celibacy, and even self-mutilation as preferable to marriage Matthew 19: 10-12

13. An Egotist. Matthew 12:41, 42. "behold, a greater than Solomon is here."

14. Approves Slavery. Luke 12:46-47, 17:7-9.

15. Deception. Mark 4:12

'And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone that does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.'

John 3 v 19-20

In John 8 v 44 Jesus adds to our understanding of this question in his discussion with the Jews. 'Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it.' So, because people love darkness rather than light, they prefer to perform what the Bible calls 'the lusts (which is really just a strong desire, commonly associated with sexual activity, but by no means confined to it) of the flesh.' Murder is the ultimate end of the 'lust' of hatred and/or a violent temper. Since the devil loves to lie, he wishes to hide all the awful truth from people, particularly about the awful results of them following their lust. As people really do wish to enjoy whatever they want to do, they don't want Jesus (usually through a Christian person) 'spoiling their party' so to speak, nor telling them what to do or not to do.

Another reason could be that the devil will never tell them to repent or turn from their wicked ways. Under him they can continue to do exactly as they please and this appeals to a lot of people until they have to pay the consequences.

Additional Comments:

Well, this is an oddly specific question, as since they are two separate entities, loving one and hating the other are not necessarily mutually exclusive. However, to address the people who do in fact love the devil AND hate Jesus one must consider what circumstances would lead to such a combination of opinions. Firstly it would be easiest to understand the love for the devil, as he is a figure that can be almost universally identified with. He is forthright and stalwart in his beliefs and opinions, and if one takes into account references to him beyond biblical literature, he has many truly human qualities. The devil's appeal can be likened to that of figures such as George Washington or Che Guevara, in that he was a rebel who stood up to what he saw as an unforgivable tyranny. Unfortunately, he stood up to the almighty God of the Abrahamic traditions, and therefore the very concept of good and purity in that worldview and thus is much harder to look upon with reverence. Still he retains that spirit of defiance that is inherent in many of us, which may explain why he can be considered appealing.

On the other hand hating Jesus is a far more quizzical assertion, considering Jesus as an individual is so very much a classically likable person. He goes through immeasurable hardship, he pour all of his efforts into doing things for others, and in the end his dedication sees him through to his tragic end, and eventual return. He is wise, humble, and like the devil, has strong conviction, but with a different and not necessarily diametrically opposed perspective. However, one could suppose that hatred for Jesus more stems not from he himself, but from the things that spring up as a result of his teachings. The number of things, strangely enough most contrary to his own beliefs, which are done in his name are myriad, and began almost immediately after his ascension. Even certain books featured in the bible portray contrary interpretations of his word given in the core books of the New Testament. Since being adopted as the state religion of the Roman Empire, the teachings of Christ have gone over generations of revisions and translations, which has lead to a plethora of interpretations of his original ethos.

Due in part to this, many people throughout history have found ways to interpret the doctrines of the Christian faith in a way to serve their own agenda, and thus muddied the waters so to speak of what Jesus actually stood for. As a result, these dubious practices allow the individuals who employ them to transfer the blame for their actions on the sum total of things associated to Jesus. Thus, it is possible that those who hate Jesus are in fact mistakenly taking their anger out against the many unfortunate misdeeds carried out that use him as a cover. In fact, it could almost be inferred the reverse of this could be the case, that people do not in fact hate Jesus, but instead hate Christianity, which would paint a very different picture in regards to the original question.

What is the story behind Hey You I Love Your Soul by Skillet?

John Cooper: "Hey You, I Love Your Soul, we're singing to people. That came from [when] my pastor was talking, he was saying that he wondered if we're becoming more like Jesus, can we love people's souls the way that God cares for their souls? The idea went into, you know, you can hate me and you can hate everything that I say but I'm gonna love you instead, which is what the gospel's all about. Jesus loved people that hated Him, which will always be one of the biggest issues in life."

What if the Devil was actually Jesus Christ?

Well he's not.Jesus Christ is God, the Creator, the Savior, the Son of God.As God there was never a time when He, Jesus, did not exist.God is Light and in Him is no darkness at all. God is Love.Lucifer, now known as the Devil or Satan, is a created angel. As a created being there was a time when he, Lucifer/the Devil/Satan, did not exist. But he is a fallen angel, he thought in his "heart" that he was better than God and would set up his throne above God. Therefore, because he rebelled against God and there was no place for God in Lucifer "heart", God cast him out of heaven. He became the Devil or Satan by his act or rebellion. The Devil or Satan is darkness. The Devil is Hate. He loves what is evil and hate what is good.So your question "What if" could not be true in this universe. But in answer to your question "What if", in this make believe universe where the Devil was Jesus Christ, then anything would be possible and nothing would be true as we now know it.Death would be good and Life would be evil. Love would be wrong and hate would be right. Suicide would be love and living on through pain would be hate. This kind of universe would be the exact opposite of what we know now.

So much hate so the ones we love means?

Love and hate trigger the same emotions...they are extreme and sometimes the people we love the most, end up being the people we hate the most. If you didn't love them, then you wouldn't hate them because you wouldn't even care...
