Well, if it is anything like my 96 SC2 you can get to the speakers through the trunk. You may want to post what kind of car it is.
In the trunk by the right tail light.
go into the trunk and disconnect the wires and then pull the speakers out from the trunk and replace.
open ur trunk and there are 6 bolts you have to take off to get to the lights
If you want to change the brake light, you will need a Torx screwdriver. You will also have to open your trunk and remove the lens cover assembly.
open your trunk and you will see the speakers take the screw out and pull your speakers out
in the trunk.
check in the trunk as the wires are exposed and luggage can very easily shift them so that they short out. This happened to my nephew who as a 2000 ECHO
The 1999 Saturn SL2 has four 6 1/2" speakers. Two in the front doors and two in the back deck above the trunk space.
From inside the trunk, pull away the felt trunk liner to expose the tail light assembly. Turn the socket COUNTER-CLOCKWISE to pop it out of the tail light assembly.
To replace the rear speakers, you have to go in the trunk, look towards upper back section of the trunk and you will see the speakers. The speakers have two black hand-screws that can be unscrewed without tools. It is as simple as this.
