You have a leak in either your compressor or your a/c lines. I just had this exact problem fixed and eventually you will have hot air coming out of all the vents. Mine was leaking out of the front of the compressor so I replaced the compressor with a refurbished one from O'Reilly's and it started doing the same thing 3 weeks later. We returned the part to O'Reilly's and the replaced it with another one and so far so good.
my 2000 Chevy venture van the air comes hot by drivers vet and cool by passenger vents
Make sure refrigerant is fully charged. Does it have dual climate control? Perhaps passenger side sensor is not working properly
Your need to add more r134a Freon. When the levels are not sufficient to cool both sides the car default sends all the cold air to the passenger side and not the driver's side.
Passenger side under the dash board. That big black box which routes all of the air to the vents has to be removed.
Could the heater door actuator be bad? What is the cost to replace? This Grand Prix has a dual-zone climate control and when the AC is on, the passenger side vents often change to heat when the control is still on cold.
The climate control is not operating for the passenger side. Check to insure the physical controls work, and the diverter vents are opening to let the cool air to the passenger side.
This happened to mine every year for 4 years. First few times it was a hose to the compressor, last time it was the actual compressor that had to be replaced...bought it on Ebay for around $300
The Vents Are operated by vaccum.. I found a cracked vacuum line on the inner fender under the hood alondside the battery that was cracked. the vacuum line runs from the firewalll to a reserve canister located under the passenger headlight. as soon as the leak was plugged the vents were working again.
the dual climate control valve is bad This has happened to me in the past when the Freon was getting low. Shorty after this I found out I was completely out of Freon. IGNORE THE SECOND ANSWER. THE DUAL CLIMATE CONTROL VALVE IS BAD OR YOU SIMPLY HAVE THE DRIVERS SIDE ON HEAT.
It is an infrared temperature sensor for the heater and ac system.
93 grand am... that's a Pontiac product. Burn it!
To remove the air vents on a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am GT, a person will have to pry them out with a screwdriver. Apply gentle pressure between the vent and the dash.
