this is probably because you have a short in the switch or a short to power
as far as I've seen the person who asked this question is a prick and dumb as hell.
I just had this problem. It turns out there's a plastic piece on the brake that hits the Stoplight switch. If the Stoplight switch is not depress, the rear park lights (stop light) would stay on.
If parking lights stay on after the car is turned off on a 2001 Hyundai Elantra than the brake switch is malfunctioning. The brake switch turns off when pressed in and if it does not work the lights of the vehicle will stay on.
Readjust the brake light switch on the pedal.

There is a switch called the "twilight sentinel". That alllows you to adjust the time that the lights will stay on after you turn the engine off. Check to see if that is working properly.
