If neither of these items check out as the problem, using a 12v tester have someone step on the brakes and check for current in the wiring connecter. If there is no voltage there it could be a wiring problem or the turn signal switch could be bad. This year Chevrolet had the current go from the brake switch, to the turnsignal switch then to the rear of the car in a right and left wires.
check your fuse and your brake light switch on your brake pedal lever.
are brake lights staying on or is brake in the dash on ?
change stop brake light under foot pedal check fuses first
It is located just above the brake pedal pad.
It is quite simple to change the brake light switch on your 1998 Chevy S 10 pickup truck. The brake light switch simply plugs in and out.
Check the fuse, check the bulbs, then check the brake light switch.
open trunk and look behind the taillights as the bulbs just twist and pull out.
you need to repair the lights and they will both work and your taillights will work properly
no
Turns out it was a relay. I just switched the one for the fog lights(not equipped) with the one for the chmsl and it works fine
You may have a blown fuse or a defective brake light switch.
the abs plug in on the wheel came off or it is a higher possibility that the brake fluid is low and when it gets to the limit line the light comes on
