You need to check the crankshaft position sensor located on the top of the intake near the rear of the back side of the altenator the wire is usually attached to the alternator bracket my 1997 grand caravan 3.3 did the same thing good luck
AnswerIt sounds as if you have an ignition module going out, or a fuel pump/relay failing.This is very dangerous as the vehicle could stall out at any moment leading up to an accident. You should'nt drive this thing until the problem is fixed.
Also be sure the fuel filter isn't plugged up, replace it.

∙ 13y agoAre you using the same key as before, when it worked? I have a copied key for my 2002 that is not factory. It's fine for the locks, but the engine will not keep running if I start with this key. It's a security feature.

the planetary gears are locking up in the tranny. your trans case could be getting hot ,over heating the tranny or your tranny could need flushing. this is serious i wouldn't drive until it is fixed if you like your jeep and don't want to spend alot of money.

I just had the same problem with my '91 wrangler. It would sputter after it was warm and then not start once engine was off. I had to let it cool down for a good 2 hours. It was electrical. I needed a new crank shaft censor. After that she ran like an angel. I also got an injection flush. Good luck.

Check the PCM = Power Control Module aka Computer. This has happened to me in the past and what was happening was the wire harness that plugs into the PCM was binding up somewhere and pulling out from the PCM. In other words, No PCM - no run run.
