This question has a false premise. The U.S. flag frequently features in the background when President Obama makes speeches. The most recent State of the Union Address is one example.
Yes. During the opening ceremony, after the countries parade in, the speeches are made, and the Games declared open the Olympic Anthem is played while the flag is brought in and raised on a flagpole in the stadium.
Not enough light on the flag maybe... Are we supposed to pay attention to Obama or the flag?
You can find designs to build your own flag display case, or you could try looking online at united-states-flag for their website's section about display cases.
First, the question is based on a myth. There are some anti-Obama websites that began circa 2008 to spread the false story that Mr. Obama was a "secret Muslim" who "hated America" and did not respect the flag. President Obama is a Christian, does not hate America, and all reports that he disrespected the flag are partisan nonsense. There are several older pictures of Mr. Obama not placing his hand over his heart, but the pictures have nothing to do with the flag-- they are pictures of him during the playing of the National Anthem. It is only recently (since 9/11/2001) that people began placing hand over heart during the playing of the anthem, but it was never required. So, the short answer is "No, there is not any picture of President Obama refusing to salute the flag," unless such a picture has been faked by his political enemies.
They do.
1. Display with star field upper-most left. 2. Avoid touching the ground with flag. 3. Fly at half mast in respect for mourning. 4. Display should always be above state and other flags during presentation of colors at ceremonies. 5. Flag should be folded appropriately to display as a triangle revealing only the field of stars.
Looking as a viewer, the US flag is ALWAYS on the left, first in a display
When the flag is on display, all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart.
That's President Obama.
Of course he does, when there is a flag to look at. Not all playing of the anthem is accompanied by a display of the flag or a salute, as any sports fan knows. Some sporting events do feature both the anthem and the flag, but a majority just have the singing of the anthem and then the game begins. What you are quoting is an internet myth that was spread by some anti-Obama talk show hosts. There is no truth to it at all. Nor is there any truth that he refuses to salute the flag or that he was on TV saying he doesn't believe in the flag. There are many photos of the president looking at, showing respect to, and saluting, the flag. But it should be noted that the custom of saluting or placing hand on heart during the National Anthem is recent, and only became popular after 9/11. Thus, you may see many politicians listening to the anthem and not saluting (or placing hand on heart), because it was never customary to do so until fairly recently.
the post flag- is 10 feet by 19feet; it for general display on days when it is not appropriate for the garrison flag
Of course. There are some internet myths that have circulated for the past ten years that claim he does not salute the flag, but these claims are false. There are many pictures and videos of him saluting the flag. These false stories are based on the myth that Mr. Obama is not an American citizen-- but he was in fact born in the United States and has always recited the pledge of allegiance during ceremonial events.
