bits of the catacomb that makes up your coverter have fallin losse. if it sound like there is dirt in it that that's the case.
The catalytic converter needs replaced.
yes it can the ceramic inside of it may have been damaged somehow. usually by having a accident from what i have heard. but my Lincoln does the same thing. its not going to be a major problem as long as you can bear the noise.
97 expedition having same prob heard catalytic converter ? hope not 97 expedition having same prob heard catalytic converter ? hope not
To be honest. I don't see a problem with that. The closer to the header(s), the louder the exhaust. At least that's what I've heard.
i heard it is inside the catlitic converter i am just repeting what i heard do not know for sure.
I have heard of this a few times in the past on all different types of cars. The most common problem that I have heard of is a clogged catalytic converter.
The rattling of heavy-duty industrial machinery could be heard, from a great distance.
Well one example I know of is I have a 1995 cheverolet silverado with a 5.0 v8 and I heard that cutting of the cat helps give me 20-30 more horsepower. Not as much resistance for the exhaust to go through if you take off the cat with all the baffels and other things inside it. If anyone was going to put true dual exhaust system on their vehicle it would make it louder and better. Know that it is illegal to remove a catalytic converter from any vehicle. Also any vehicle with the OBD2 system will not run properly with the converter removed.
Rattling is a noun and a verb. Rattling is also an adjective. Example uses:As a noun: That rattling is very distracting. As a verb: The wind was rattling the blinds. As an adjective: The rattling shutters woke me up.
Any newer car with a catalytic converter cuts down 99% of the carbon monoxide. You can still die from it but it takes way longer, ive heard 1-4 hours depending.
I've never heard of a vehicle that has a catalyst. A catalyst is like a bridge itallows things to happen. I think you are thinking of a catalytic converter. This is the box around your exhaust pipe and it is used for partially reducing the toxicity of emissions from the combustion of gasoline
I heard that racing fuel will clean out your injectors and converter.
a mechanic heard a rattling under my 95 and said it was a small hole in my muffler pipe and it will get bigger if i dont weld it but someone else said the pipe was loose and knocking on the clamp 50k ago, I had to remove the heat shields from the catalytic converters. Took care of it!
