If the battery light comes it could mean your alternator is not putting out enough volts to keep the battery charged. I would take it and get the charging system tested, they usually do it for free at AUtozone. If your handy with a voltage meter and know the wires to touch you can see what your alternator is putting out. But you won't be able to put a draw on the system the way they can at AZ. I suggest you take it there before you are left sitting stranded at night in the dark. That's not a good thing. because the voltage the car battery can supply is not sufficient to start the car engine but the light demand little voltage to be lighted' by GARIBA MOHAMMED-SUNYANI POLYTECHNIC/Ghana
Your alternator is not keeping the battery charged.
Why would battery light come on then go off
Follow the battery wires from the battery out. It sounds like you may have damaged one or both of the battery leads in the snow. Your car also has fusible links that are often part of the battery cables and one of those may have blown if they were shorted in the snow.
Yes it happened to me. My airbag light is flashing after changing the battery and the mechanic not following procedure
It doesn't matter where the bulb is in respect to the battery, as long as the circuit is complete, the bulb will light up.
Usually when the battery light comes on its the Alternator, or a bad wire from Alternator to battery, but id check Alternator first.
your Alternator
Charging system problem. Normally this means there is a problem with the alternator.
If your battery light is on while the car is running, it most like means your alternator is not putting out enough power and probably needs replacing.
More than likely the alternator is defective or the belt is loose.
Your alternator is not keeping the battery charged.
My epc light came on because of battery failure. My battery was acting funny and barely starting the car. I went to autozone and had them check my battery which ended up having a bad cell. I replaced the battery and the car easily started up. After the car started the light never came back on.
Check your battery. And have your alternator checked. Most auto parts stores will do it for free.
Probably your battery cable or cables are loose on one end or the other.
if the light get brighter when your driving then its your alternator so a new one will be needed
battery light indication means a dead battery or a dead alternater/regulater or a fault in the charging/ignition system
Battery light usually means alternator not charging. Most common solutions would be be a bad alternator, bad connection, or loose alternator belt. If the battery and alt test ok than check the connections to the alternator and battery.
