the air conditioner is separate from your cooling system. intrepids are prone to overheating, and i think it is because the radiator is too small to properly vent heat.
AnswerCooling system should also be bled of air by the bleed screw on the water outlet located on the top of the motor.Air pockets are common.Clogged Heater core... common problem with 2002 dodge

heater core
You either have a bad controller or a bad actuator.........
Possible head gasket leakage? Low on coolant? Air Lock? Water pump not likely.
This frequently happens when the heater coil is going bad.
my 95 intrepid is doing the same thing check the "engine controller" fuse under the hood i do this but it blows out every so often still trying to figure that out
You have a coolant leak somewhere. Fill and check underneath for any obvious leakage.
heater core is more than likely leaking..
Maybe thermostat is stuck open With my car, it was Heater matrix clogged with radiator sealant. The workshop cleaned it and it's start working fine!
