Replace the door lock actuator/solenoid. They get destroyed with moisture or burned out if someone's leg leans on them for a long period.
my discovery 3 rear door lock will not lock with remote
u need to buy a new door lock actuator
Bad door lock actuator.
I have the same question, the owners manual is wrong about this. I have a 07 Civic 4 door LX automatic. The owners manual has several variations depending on what you want and if its an automatic or manual tranny.
An exterior door is usually a keyed doorknob or keyed lever. It may consist of single or multiple bolts to lock the door.
power door lock actuator is broken and not letting the key raise the lock button
replace the door lock accuators. should only be 50.00 for the part
fix it
To cut my work in half... Do you mean the door lock or the ignition lock ??
Try cleaning the spring loaded contact points between the door and the door jam. Both the points and the door contact get dirty. I've cleaned them with a good pink pencil eraser and very fine sand paper. Good luck.
Try shooting a thin penetrant into the lock, and trying it. Do this daily for a week and if it doesn't work, replace the lock. not enough info. are you saying key doesn't work or manually locking by hand won't work, or both, key turns but door doesn't lock??? etc.
The door lock relay is the culprit. where it is I have not a clue so far.
