In the case of a 6 cylinder, their are 2 exhaust manifolds; the front exhaust manifold is located under the hood between the radiator and the engine: when you check your oil level by grasping the dipstick your hand will be just a few inches above the exhaust manifold. Basically, follow the exhaust pipe(s) to the engine and where it connects to a device that splits the exhaust 3 or 4 ways, that device is your exhaust manifold.

On a front wheel drive vehicle, the engine is turned 90 degrees, so the exhaust manifold appears to be on the front and back of the engine, below the valve covers.

The upstream O2 sensor is on the exhaust manifold which is in the front, and the downstream O2 sensor is on the Catalytic Converter which attaches to the exhaust manifold, looks like a small oddly shaped muffler in the middle of the underside of the engine compartment leading to the exhaust system.
