The Pulley is slipping forward during pump engagement and tightening the belt to breaking point. Tighten or replace bolts holding Power Steering pump to the bracket.
I have been hearing a pulley that sounded loose or like it was gonna fail and have been waiting on the serpentine belt to break on 1996 Mazda Protege. Will I feel that the pulley is slipping?
How do you replace power steering belt on 2003 Mazda protege ?1.6
Screwed into the side of the power steering pump.
power steering fluid resivour
This year Mazda protege does not have a serpentine belt. It has two belts, one for the alternator/water pump, and the other for the power steering and a/c.
Right on the power steering pump. pointing to the front of the car.
There are so many posiblities that no answer is possible to this question
Check for a loose power steering belt.
Remove the power steering belt first then the alternator belt will go on.
i need to change my alternator belt and don't know where the tension wheel is so i can take off the other belt to replace the alternator belt on my 94 Mazda protege 1.6l
need some more information my friend The power window motors on a Protege are non-repairable items. Make sure the switches, fuses, and such are in good order before replacing the motor.
You disconnect the power and ground and take the old battery out n put in a new one.
This applies to a 2003 Mazda Protege: It depends on what type of engine you have. For the 1.6L engine, the oil dipstick is the front-passenger side area, close to the power steering reservoir. For the 2.0L engine, the dipstick is on the same side but towards the back, close to the wheel.
