Urine contains acid which as etched the surface - this is not a stain but damage to the surface. There are products which, if the damage is minimal, will bring back the shine. Search internet for etch removal.

There are a lot of variables in this question. The most general answer would be travertine assuming it is of average quality. With that said, travertine requires quite a bit more maintenance then ceramic. The floor is porous which allows it to easily stain if not properly sealed. You are more limited in cleaning products you can use as well.
Home Depot does sometimes sell presealed Travertine but the box would usually state that. If it's not labeled as presealed and you think it is you can test it by sprinkling the stone with water if it beads up then it's sealed if it sinks in then it's not. Also try to test more than one piece as some pieces might have been sealed just for display purposes.

You can't stain a door that is already sealed. You have to first remove the sealer down to bare wood so that the stain can penetrate into the wood to the color desired, then reseal with a polyurethane or spar varnish.
