It's likely your transmission has a bad gasket 'O' ring on the filter, causing it to suck air on takeoff, and then, as soon as it gets its prime, it will catch. It's nothing a filter and fluid change won't cure, but be sure to replace that 'O' ring.

Depends on each individual truck. Look in your glovebox....there is a label from the factory with parts codes on it. The one with G refers to your gear ratio/ ring & pinion. It's the bearings, the axle halves are held into the rear end at the ends. The bearing is pressed on to the axle and held on with a retainer plate. Sometimes after wear the bearing will become loose and the axle will begin to slip out. In the middle of the rear end the axles are splined and simply slip into the ring and pinion gears.
