It's likely your transmission has a bad gasket 'O' ring on the filter, causing it to suck air on takeoff, and then, as soon as it gets its prime, it will catch. It's nothing a filter and fluid change won't cure, but be sure to replace that 'O' ring.

It's the bearings, the axle halves are held into the rear end at the ends. The bearing is pressed on to the axle and held on with a retainer plate.
