Why does the A C only work on low and high settings but not on the middle settings on a 2000 Buick Regal?

If your talking about the fan setting it sounds like the switch is bad. Possibly a bad switch, but more likely a bad blower motor resistor, which you can purchase at most auto parts stores for $20.
