Sounds like something is shorting out whenever the ignition key is turned on. Could be the starter motor, as that is the first electrical connection after the battery.
Jump start it from another vehicle or charge the battery. If the battery is bad, replace it. If you jump start it and the battery is dead you will have to wait about 15 minutes with the jump car running and connected to the dead battery, in order to build the battery up enough for it to actually take a jump.
Astro start hands down is the best auto start on the market
You add it down the dipstick tube.
most likely the alternator is dead and when the battery drops below certain voltage the computer for the car can no longer operate and the vehicle shuts down
A faulty belt tensioner and/or a worn belt. A run down battery could add to it.

You will be running off the battery power only. Once the battery is run down you be stuck, unable to start.
This has happened to both of my jeeps. it's actually not even a problem. the caps on the battery corrode and make it hard for the cables to obtain electricity from the battery. all you need to do is take some sandpaper and rub the battery caps down until that corrosion is off and your jeep will start fine.
First you want to disconnect your negative [-] battery cable and then your positive [+] then remove the battery hold-down bolts and remove the battery installation is in the reverse
The battery is dieing down and you should go and get a new battery or get your battery charged
Clean battery terminals, then tighten down the battery cables. With the ignition key---like any other time.
As long as the battery is fully charged it will start no matter the condition of the alternator. Eventually the battery will run down if the alternator is not keeping it charged.
