It's a warning signal that shows the transmission gear need maintenance. That may be a mechanical or electronic problem, first of all, clean up the gear box by replacing the Transmission Fluid to see if it can reset the light blinks. If not, then be the sensor. Any other adnormal sound during acceleration? If so, then may be the aging effect of the gear box that will cost so much.
The sensor that detects its in is probably broken.

it is under the transmission. u can see part of the wire when you are looking into the engine bay. the wire should be close to the radiator.
