It sounds like you have the white wire on the wrong side of the coil. the white wire is the power wire.Good Luck

If it is white smoke and it is coming out of the exhaust then it is possibly a blown head gasket, the white smoke is from water getting into the engine. some times you can check by taking the radiator cap offand turning the engine over, if water shoots out then its a blown head gasket. at least that's what my Nissan did.
