Clean out your IACV on the baack of your IM. Should fix it
because your ecu sends more fuel to warm up the engine faster
A car may idle up and down due to "Improper fuel mixture". (The fuel in the car may consist of an un-even balance of air or gas). However, there are a few other ways a car can idle up and down.
idle speed controll or tps throttle sensor
Check/ replace the TPS if the idle is up and down.
It could be one of two things, dirty IACV (idle air control valve) or air in the cooling system. The IACV is the most likely culprit, you'll need to remove it and clean it really well with brake cleaner. It's located on the back of your throttle body.
The IAC (idle air control) at the throttle body is usually the problem.
Hello, Usually The throttle position sensor controls that. When they go bad, your idle will go up and down like that. I hope this is helpful.
You might try checking you idle air control valve.
idle speed motor on the throttle body.
do you have a/c switched on when this is happening a/c makes engine idle up and down as it cycles on and off
The engine will idle up and down usually. It can also idle high or real low. But other things factor in on how the idle air works
your idle air control valve need to replace parts $200 labor $150 or clean it with carburetor spray if you're lucky that might solve the problem i clean my idle air control valve it help little maybe i didn't clean it up good my idle go up and down pretty high and then after i clean it sound much better but it still there idle go up and down slowly now the best way just buy a new idle air control valve engine light turn on hope its not o2sensor
