If you put the vehicle in gear but it doesn't engage, you probably have a problem with the transmission. Check the Transmission Fluid level first, but don't try to drive it if it won't engage. If it's just low on fluid you might be ok, otherwise, see a transmission shop. It could also be a disconnected CV joint. To determine whether it is the transmission or CV joint, there are two simple tests. The first is to shift the vehicle into Drive and watch the speedometer while you push down on the accelerator. If the speedometer moves, then the problem is the CV joint, not the transmission. The second test is to put the car in Neutral and push the car. If the car rolls, then put the car in Park and push again. If the car rolls forward, then the problem is the transmission. If it does not move forward, then it is the CV Joint.
The most common reasons for a car not to turn over or start are a bad starter, a bad starter solenoid, or a wiring problem. If the car is turning over. check the engine for fire to the spark plugs.
well if its a carburated engine or has a throttle body it sounds that its throttle linkage has snapped and needs to be replaced. I will assume that the vehicle is carburated and tell you to cxheck the drivers side of the carburetor by taking off the air cleaner and looking at the throttle control on the carb
Manual transmission car then the clutch has failed. If it is an automatic then the A/T has failed. Check the fluid level. If it is full seek professional help. If it is low add the correct A/T fluid. Do not overfill.
because the computer went into limp because of a problem the computer is reading get a scan tool and hook it up it will tell you
Sounds like the transmission is bad.,,,,,,,,,,, If you are not satisfied with the answer ask again with more details.
The engine needs fuel, compression and spark to run. You are missing at least one of those.
THE netural Saftey Switch could B bad .
There could be many reasons as to why it will crank and not start. The car may have a failing starter, a leaky gas pump may cause the car to cut off while driving.
Stupidity hurts. Learn to do some diagnosis or take it to a mechanic.
WHAT DOES THE CAR DO WHEN YOU TRY TO START IT? NOTHING? JUST CRANKS? CLICKS,FAST/SINGLE?
Stuck relay or the starter is wired incorrectly.
Cranks is the motor turning over, But cranks and won't start means either you no fuel or no spark or both.
If it cranks but doesnt start it could be your fuel pump relay or your fuel pump could be bad.
how does it stall if it wont start?
its not your ignition its your crankshaft sensor that's the same problem i had.
No gas or no ignition gives the same result: the car cranks but doesn't even try to start.
If it just cranks and cranks and cranks then it's likely fuel pump. If it died and it won't turn over anymore, likely alternator.
THE netural Saftey Switch could B bad .
if i sccidently shorted the battery car wont start but cranks whats wrong ??
the antitheft lights blinks the car cranks but doers not start
It could be your coil but then again I would have to see it to know.
Try changing your ignition coil....they're a common problem with hondas.
do you mean it cranks, but will not start?
