Rotor Pick-up coil
There are a few steps: The easiest will be to try using the coil from another vehicle preferably one from a car with te same engine size ( DONT WORRY THE BORROWED COIL WONT DAMAGE). Also try changing out the wires between the coil & distributor. Lastly check the wires that should deliver power to the coil. Hope this helps ;-)
...don't you need a distributor? unless you're coil on plug, and computer controlled, it needs a mechanical distributor. apart from that, bust out the repair manual. it will tell you where everything is, usually with a picture for reference. if you still can't find it, you probably shouldn't be working on the vehicle. if the picture helps you find stuff, you need to trace the wires from the ecu to the coil (if computer controlled, ensuring no breaks) and from the battery to the coil, check the coil, if good keep moving up to the distributor, if that's still good, check your plug wires.
Check the distributor and spark plug wires.
no because a 1991 accord comes whith a ignition coil inside of the distributor end 1993 the ignition coil is outside end the holes dont line up
Could be many things. What year? How many miles? Which engine etc? You have to be more specific. What is the compression in each cylinder?
Your truck has two coil packs. one on each side of the truck. I changed mine twice on my 99 expedition. I dont know the exact definition of the coil pack, but i know that they are related to the sparkplug and it's wires, and when they go bad they can cause a misfire with the sparkplugs. If you need to change them send me a message i can tell you how.
follow your plug wires from your distributor, just remember dont pull on the wires to disengage them, pull on the base[CLOSEST TO THE PLUG].
try changing the igniton module (dist. module) usually located on the base of the distributor. hope this helps!
Crack in distributor cap? Plug wires old and porous? ------------ Please check the coil also. A good test is to lift the hood at night and spray water out of a squirt bottle onto athe engine as it is running. Make sure you dont spray the engine so much as you lightly mist the engine. You are looking for sparks out of the coil or spark plus wires. Be very careful of the fan and fan belts in the dark.
Sorry but your question makes absolutely NO sence whatsoever! do you mean that you have already Changed-(with an A, try using spell checker next time pal!) your battery with a new one and your vehicle still will not start? Have you checked ALL fuses and relays related to battery, starter, altenator, ignition and fuel pump? Have you checked ALL spark plug wires? distributor cap, spark rotor or coil pack wires? Have you checked for fuseable links and if your vehicle has any are they bad?
green signal wire goes to the negative side of coil, not the positive. On your tach you probably have a ground(black),power(red), signal(green) and illumination(yellow?) wires. The signal wire splices into the positive side of the coil. The rest of the wires are pretty self explanatory. Make sure you have a solid ground and power. The illumination wire can be hooked into the headlight switch so it goes on with your lights. Tim The statement above is true for hooking up a tach. I just installed one in my 87 gmc s15. the trucks are set up from the factory to come with one, so you will find a wire located in the wiring harness that has a hookup for your tach. This is so you dont have to mess with the distributer set up. This may save you some time.
if you dont see them right on top of the engine them you dont have them......... you have what they call c o p or coil on plug. this setup only has a coil and a boot that sit right on top of the plug.
