Generally, the wide majority of Arab women don't cover their faces.
Covering faces is not a religious obligation. It is rather traditional or local community practices. So, it depends on the country/coomunity that you talk about.

∙ 15y agoWell, it has nothing to do with Arabs ! It has to do with Islam. Actually, the text in Quran (the Muslims Holy Book) has not mention covering hair specifically. I say hair only, because there was NO commands in Quran asking Muslim women to cover face. Covering face was ONLY a tradition followed across the centuries due to circumstances people lived in.
But the way Muslim women are dressed up shows how Islam treated woman with respect and wanted her when in public, to be looked at as a merely sexual object.
This outfit, though which became a common practice in Islam, has not stopped women from participating in various fields in society since the time of Prophet Mohammad. Women were nurses -in battle field, poets, merchants among many other professions.
The way they look, made Muslim women distinguished among any other women anywhere. It should be mentioned here that not only Muslim women are covered but also, Christian and Jewish women used to do so -at least in some parts of the world. Nuns are still covered, and its only recently, that women stopped covering their heads when they go to church

Hello, First of all, not all Arab women cover their whole body in black. This is simply part of the Islamic religion (to dress modestly), which a very high percentage of the Arab population follows.
